Okay so Donks catch a lot of shit here on the internet. But I feel that can look BA when done right.

just look at this baby. Its not 4 feet in the air. the wheels aren't wider than the wheel arches. and the wheels, are showy but still have a classy look. So lets see some more well done Donk'd out rides.

this one i'm not in love with the wheel design but I love the color, and I love that the wheels are color matched to the creamy brown.

and here one I have mixed feelings about. I want to hate it, but for some reason I don't even tho I know I should

It wouldn't be so bad if the rims didn't always look cheap and shitty . There's a difference between big rims, and ugly big rims. It's like the difference between an artful tattoo and a tramp stamp.

The way I look at it, either make something beautiful and tasteful, or make something hilarious that isn't serious at all.

It's about creating something unique out of something that isn't that interesting. It's flashy, but only because it's creating an image . The problem is that most of them are focused more on the size of the rims or the height of the cars, not the overall effect it has. Ie, this is high art. A brilliant skilled painter using all the right techniques might be significantly less regarded than one that is simple, but creates things that make people react positively.

I'm not a fan of the wheel designs themselves.

The Impalas pictured are nice, almost classy, but a set of 15x8 Cragars or Dayton spokes with some sidewall showing would look a boatload better.

I agree, if I was building a classic big body American car I'd most likely go with some wires, but I think that, like a lot of things, donks get picked on and dissed more than they should.

that charger made me do a double take. lol. didn't even notice at first that it only had two doors. Looks shorter than a Challenger. Must be a shortened Charger from before the Challenger came out, or they just wanted a two door Charger.

Probably before the challenger came out, and I don't think it's shortened, the rear door is just replaced with a single panel. There was a period where people kept bitching about how blasphemous a 4 door charger was.

looking at it again I think it's just the lager wheels, adn wheel arches that make it look shorter. It really looks kinda cartoony.
